Mark Jahsan’s theme for today was 3D printed military vehicles! These are from Miniature Tanks Company. He purchased a bunch of them and I think he said they cost an average of $9 each.
Front row starting on the left: a Dodge WC51 ¾ ton, Dodge WC-62 1-1/4 ton, and a Russian STZ-3 tractor.
Back row: Ford Navy GTB bomb carrier, Caterpillar D6A dozer which had the largest part count at 22.
These are really cool, Mark!
That's all for now...becasue I don't have anything else to say! See ya at the Potluck!
We will kick things off with Stan Carrier’s two tanks. First, we have his 1/35 Academy M48A5 painted in Army colors added decals from his spares box. Lookin’ good, Stanley!
Mark Welch brought in another big 1/16 tank from Heng Long. It is an Sturmgeschutz II G with metal running gear which had to be heavily modified to fit, Tamiya Dark Yellow rattle can spray, Tamiya brown wash, black pinwash, Peddinghaus decals, level 7 (top) electronics. It ran, MG fired, main gun fired, engine ran based on Speed, generated smoke. This was cool! Thanks for sharing, Mark!
Doug Seekman, Stan’s personal model builder, showed off a 1/72 Italeri/Testors JU-86E from the pre-war era. He used Hataka orange line lacquer paint, decals from Super Scale, letters are dry transfers. Stan is happy!
His next tank is what he calls a fantasy tank...a what if. He did a conversion (kit bash) of an M60A2 Starship with a 155 mm cannon from a M109 Paladin. He used decals from the spares he had left over from his Tamiya "Dragon Wagon". Great model and great creativity! Great netting, too, Stan!
William Hall brings up the rear…well, because, his data sheet was on the bottom of the stack! Here is his 1/32 Revell UH-1D Huey gunship. This was his first military/airplane kit! The kit moldings were crappy…said Bill! He painted it with Tamiya OD TS-5. Hopefully his next kit will have better fitting parts! Nice, Job, William!
His next model is from Zvezda and is the SU-27P Flanker painted with MRP/Mr Paint, Quinta 3D cockpit interior, Wolf Pack ejection seat, wonderful digital decals from HAD models, national insignias and numbers from FoxBot and was weathered with Ammo by Mig washes. Again, Stan is very happy! Boy, those decals look good!
