Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2024!
TRIAD Plastic Modeling Society
We will start with Mark Welch and his array of BMC Toys tanks…A Tiger VIB, a Panther A and T34’s 76 & 85. He hand painted the first two and the T34’s he washed. These are toys he purchased for his grandson and they are 1/35 scale and look pretty darn good! He used Tamiya and Testors paints and Peddinghaus decals. They cost around $15-16 each but he purchased the two T-34’s for $18.
Doug Seekman brought in three aircraft models he built for Stan Carrier. The 1/48 A-10C is for Stan’s brother and will be donated to a local VFW. He painted it with Gunze Mr. Color, Speed Huter graphics decals, True Details ejection seat, Qunitas 3D printed interior, weathered with Ammo by Mig washes, and a Duplicata map in the cockpit.
Mark Jahsan decided to take a break from giant aircraft carriers and built this old 1/24 AMT 1964 Mercury Marauder Fast Back OOB except for the wheels and tires. He purchased this on Ebay.
Way cool, Mark! Oh, he painted it with Rustoleum so it won't rust!
That's all there is and there ain't no more! See you at the WS!
We will cover Stan’s kit bashed tank models at a future S&T but I wanted to give you a heads up. Yes, that’s a 155mm howitzer barrel! So stay tuned for all the juicy details!
Doug’s 1/72 Trumpeter Ukraine Mig-29 was painted with Gunze Mr. Color and Tamiya. Decals from the ICM kit, wolfpack ejection seat, Qunitas 3D printed interior, and weathered with Ammo by Mig washes. By the way, the camo is decals!
Doug…all three are simply amazing. I know Stan is very impressed!
This 1/72 Italeri Do-217E-4 is a 1970’s kit and was painted with Tamiya and AK 3G acrylics, Eduard PE seat belts, , Decals from Superscale, dry transfer for codes, and weathered with pastels.
Mr. President showed off his 1/25 Revell dirt track midget with the Offy engine. Was built OOB. He hand painted the numbers (good grief!) and painted it with Krylon oil rubbed bronze. The decals came from his decal box.
