Home of the modeling savants....Celebrating forty years of modeling fun, education, and history in 2024!

Next, we have two 1/48 Russian vehicles which will fit into his airfield support collection.  On the right we have the ZIS-5V.  He built this one first to see how it would come out…it came out great!

On the BM-13 rocket launcher, he hollowed out the cab (a ton of work!!) and then added a rudimentary interior and glass.  See the lightning holes in the rails?  You can do that with 3D but not injection molded in one piece.  Way cool!

He purchased these from Miniature Tanks Company and they were inexpensive!!

Big tank guy Mark Welch threw us a curve ball today with his 1/720 Italeri Panzerschiff Admiral Graf Von Spee.  He built it OOB using Peddinghaus 1/700 decals, Tamiya paints, and Autoworld display case, water is Sculptamold plaster, and the water was painted with acrylic paint from Meijer!  Mark modeled this as the ship appeared in 1938 and painted for peacetime.  This puppy had six 11” guns and was powered, believe it or not, by diesel engines!  He said he is glad it’s done!  Great job, Mark!

Spencer Kosc, who might prefer school over work, and who wouldn’t, displayed his Tamiya Pz II built OOB with Tamiya Paint, custom insignia stencils, base is foam and balsa,  He built this tank, his first, as an experiment in weathering armor.  I think he knows what he is doing!

Also shown is his 1/72 British two seat trainer Vampire from Airfix.  This was OOB except for the ejection seat and the handles and painted with Tamiya.  Nice to have Spencer as part of the crew!  Doesn't he do a good job with the panel lines!

Great models and a great time today!  See ya in two weeks!

The Predator MQ-1B is from Bronco and Doug Painted it with Gunze Mr. Color, deceals from the kit, and weathered with Ammo by Mig Washes.

I overheard quite a few members say today that Doug Seekman is a really good modeler!  I agree but you won't hear me say that!!  ;-)  The 1Kinetic /48 F-16A-MLU was painted with Ammo by Mig Atom acrylic.  Decals from Kagero, True Details ejection sear, Quintas 3D printed interior, Eduard Brassin AGM-158 JASSM air to surface cruise missiles, and Aerobonus sidewainder caps.  Good heavens.

I know what you are thinking, finally something that isn’t from the track!  Nope,  You’d be wrong.  This is a 1/25 Revell Beer Wagon that he converted into a RACETRACK wrecker.  He made so many customizations I’m not going to try and cover them.  Just look at it!  He was busy!  He painted it with Testors gloss blue and the decals were from his spares box.  He thinks he’s so cute! 😉

We start today with Mark Jahsan.  He brought in 4 3D printed models…two in HO scale and two in 1/48th.  The first photo are of the HO vehicles that he wanted for his Jahsan Station diorama that you saw last month.  Here is a Model TT that Mark converted into Mr. Haney’s (of Petticoat junction) stake bed!

The other is Jethro’s truck from the Beverly Hillbillies.  He had to cut off the roof and rear and built the bed and bench.  Mark says, “It makes me laugh to look at them!”  Great job, Mark.
